The Constructive Entrepreneur in the Making
The 9 years old Zymal is a student at Beaconhouse School System Sargodha. At a mere age of 6, she felt the urge to take an initiative for keeping the surroundings pollution free.
Disheartened at how people carelessly throw the plastic bags on roads and streets, she set up an aim to make her beloved city clean and green. Zymal started a project named Zee Bags. The idea was to promote the use of cost-effective and environment-friendly paper bags instead of plastic bags.
Zymal shared in an interview that the idea of using paper bags was inspired from a shopkeeper three years back. The shopkeeper was giving out newspaper bags to his customers. It struck Zymal so deep, she decided to take the initiative herself to bring the much-needed change.
She has been selling hundreds of paper bags since then. Currently, she sells them to her relatives and at certain fairs. She has been working hard for a greener Sargodha and a greener Pakistan.
Zymal collects the newspapers, make the bags and decorate them with flowers and stones. She sells her newspaper bags for Rs.70 each.
The Thoughtful Social Mind
The girl is not just a thoughtful mind but a kind heart. She uses the money earned from selling the bags to help the underprivileged children. Her aim is not just a greener Pakistan but also a prosperous Pakistan.
Zymal is currently associated with SOS village. She buys items for the orphans there with this money. She says that plenty of people are suffering from poverty and ignorance. It is our duty to serve them. They need our help.
Zymal’s Efforts Recognized!
Zymal has been awarded the TIE, the youngest entrepreneurship award. She has also received a gold medal from the Federal Secretary of Education in Pakistan. Saudi government has also recognized her efforts and she received the Prince Abdul Aziz Award for Children Pioneer/Ecopreneur.
Zymal’s Support System
Whatever we do, wherever we go, there are some people who play a vital role in our lives. They are the people who help us turn our dreams into reality. Same is the case with Zymal.
Zymal says that her parents are her greatest support. They have been a constant help in achieving her goals. She further adds that her parents feel a sense of satisfaction and enjoy helping her. She couldn’t have been able to start this work without their help.
