World XI To Visit Pakistan Soon

International Cricket Council confirms the tour of World XI to visit Pakistan and play.

Pakistan hasn’t had a chance to play international cricket in their own country since the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore. With Zimbabwe being the only country to visit and play in Pakistan 2 years ago, Pakistan has played most of its cricket out of their country. However, this Friday International Cricket Council confirmed in its annual meeting in London that the World XI will tour Pakistan and play against Pakistan in Lahore. With this announcement, awakens the lost hope of future of international cricket in Pakistan. For Cricket lovers in Pakistan, this announcement is an “Eid” before “Eid-ul-Fitr” itself. Micky Arthur had hoped that World XI would visit Pakistan in near future. Especially after an incredible victory against India in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 hoping that this victory will open doors for international cricket in Pakistan. Micky Arthur mentioned:

“So hopefully that starts paving the way for future tours. We can only hope.”

Captain Sarfraz Ahmed seemed confident of the return of International cricket in his country and mentioned:

“I hope this win will boost Pakistan cricket and all the (major) playing nations will come to Pakistan.”

Confirming the ICC’s announcement, Micky Arthur mentioned:

“We’re scheduled to have a World XI in Pakistan in September for three Twenty20 games.”

World XI Tour Pakistan

ICC this Friday confirmed the visit of World XI to Pakistan. According to ICC, World XI will play a series of 3 twenty-twenty gamed against Pakistan. All of the matches would be played in Lahore and according to International standards. The aim of the series is to revive International Cricket in Pakistan as mentioned by the president of the England and Wales Cricket Board; Giles Clarke who quoted:

“The desire is to give the cricket-starved Pakistani supporters the chance to see some of the world’s finest players in live action.”

We hope that the future of International Cricket in Pakistan begins with the visit of World XI this year pray that may terrorism never succeed to fail Pakistan prevail successfully.
