The Sad Ending of Pak vs India Champions Trophy 2017


Brilliant batting & gameplay led India to an easy win against Pakistan in the Pak vs India Champions Trophy 2017 this Sunday. Batting performances by Virat Kohli & Yuvraj Singh steered India to a comfortable win and Yuvraj Singh to earn the “man of the match” award.

India’s Performance

India chose to bat first. Starting off smoothly India didn’t face much trouble scoring boundaries but the rain which interrupted the gameplay numerous times. Due to frequent training, India’s batting was limited to just 48 overs but still, India managed to leave Pakistan an impressive target of 320 runs to chase.

In the Pak vs India Champions Trophy 2017, India kicked off the match to an amazing start with an opening partnership of 136 runs from Rohit Sharma & Shikhar Dhawan. This partnership steered India comfortably ahead leaving the rest of the game to the mercy of Kohli & Yuvraj partnership. The duo managed to add 93 runs on the scoreboard just off 58 balls. At the expense of just 2 wickets, India was off to a comfortable lead. Pakistan missed two wonderful chances at putting an end to Virat-Yuvraj partnership by dropping catches both times. Which Pakistan realized soon, later on. The top scorer; Rohit Sharma added an another 91 runs to the board leaving Pakistan to chase a painstaking target of 320 runs (revised target of 324 runs) at an expense of just 3 wickets.

Kohli scored an incredible 81 runs off 68 balls featuring six fours & 3 sixes.While Yuvraj Singh nonetheless scored 53 off 32 balls featuring 8 fours & one six. While Rohit Sharma scored 91 runs including seven fours & two sixes.

Pakistan’s Performance


Pak vs India Champions Trophy 2017 ended up as a drastic & humiliating loss for Pak against India. Pakistan failed to chase the 320-run target set by India & reached nowhere even close to the target. To mention, Pakistan even failed to score 200 runs & only managed to score 164 runs before the whole team bowled out in the 34th over. Pakistan failed to set a good lead or an opening partnership for the lower order to carry.

Azhar scored the highest of 50 runs off 65 balls featuring six boundaries. Not much was left for the rest of the team to take the situation under control.



 Expectations & Result

Millions of Pakistanis around the globe had attached hope & high spirits with the men in green to glorify against India. Unfortunately, lack of team accordance, strategy & performance failed to do so. Nonetheless, we wish all the best to the Pakistani cricket team for its next fixture. Go green!
