Pakistani Women Cricket Team Ready To Beat South Africa


Pakistani Women Cricket Team is all set to face South Africa in the Women’s World Cup this Sunday.

Passion for cricket in Pakistan is at an all-time high, thanks to the men in green especially for bringing home the ICC Champions Trophy after outclassing India at the Oval despite being the lowest-ranked team in the tournament. Pakistani Women Cricket Team are also hoping to bag home the Women’s World Cup trophy after successfully qualifying in February. The Pakistani Women Cricket Team is ranked at number 7th, one position shy of their counterparts. Pakistani Women Cricket Team had been in England since the beginning of July and during the men’s final, the women team was in Leicester. According to Pakistani Women Cricket Team Sana Mir:

 “During the Pakistan innings (in the final) we were practicing at Grace Road, and then before lunch, we saw the last 10 overs of the Pakistan batting and we were super-excited about the way they played. Then we watched the whole second innings and the bowling performance; it’s wonderful to see the men doing so well. It was something that was needed for the country. We’re such a sports-loving country and we have been looking for a big win for a long time now so it’s amazing and the people are very happy.”

According to her, the men’s performance is a motivation for the Pakistani Women Cricket Team.

Pakistani Women Cricket Team Battle For The Glory

 Pakistani Women Cricket Team will face South Africa on Sunday in Bristol. According to Sana Mir, Captain of Women Cricket Team, the team is going to be under immense pressure and a lot of expectations, she further stated:

“It’s more of a mental thing now, it’s about nerves and keeping your cool under pressure.”

When asked if the team was ready for the tournament, she replied:

 “It’s been pretty good preparation so far. We’ve been here since 2 June and we’ve played some practice matches and the quality of cricket we have played is improving every day so I’m very happy with the way the team is progressing.”
