Pakistani Film ‘Bachaana’ Makes Rs20m in First Three Days

Pakistani film “Bachaana” has become the biggest Pakistani hit of 2016 as it generated over R20 million in first three days after being released. Mohib Mirza and Sanam Saeed are playing the lead and the film is directed by Nasir Khan.

Although the movie was released in mid of two major cricket events, it still managed to do good business making more than 20 million rupees in just first three days. The movie has brought people to the cinema when all they wanted to do was to watch their favorite team in the T20 cricket mega events. Although R20m isn’t a huge amount of money for a film in its opening week, it is still an indicator for Pakistani movie makers that people will come out to watch good movies, even when released in middle of PSL.

The movie did major business at Atrium Cinemas in Karachi and Centaurus in Islamabad. The business it has done in Islamabad is especially encouraging as Karachi always receives Urdu films well but they hardly make money outside the Karachi. There is every chance that the movie will continue doing good business since there is no major release in the coming few weeks. On the side note, Pakistani cricket audience is already done with Asia Cup after Pakistan loosing to Bangladesh last night, which means “Bachaana” will get all the attention during this weekend.
