Pakistan wins Champions Trophy 2017 after defeating India and dethrones India and becomes the champion of the ICC Champions Trophy tournament.

Who would’ve thought that Pakistan wins Champions Trophy 2017 and would make such an unbelievable comeback against India? After being miserably defeated by India at the start of the tournament by 124 runs. Pakistan made sure to take its revenge in the finals and embarrass India at the Oval, humiliating Indian Batsmen with an impressive 180 runs defeat.

India won the Toss and decided to bowl first. Unfortunately for India, Pakistan benefited from optimal batting pitch and scored a massive target of 339 runs (at a loss of just 4 wickets) for the Indians to chase in 50 overs. Indians, however, had themselves cornered and utterly devastated by the Pakistani bowlers. Half the Indian team was bowled out for 100 runs. 76 runs to be precise at the expense of 6 wickets. Eventually, the whole team was bowled out for 158 runs in 30.3 overs, passing over the throne to Pakistan.

“It is unbelievable. After the first game, we were down and out but we sat down and said that we have to make a comeback. It is not any upset. We beat four great teams in the world.


Pakistan’s Performance

Pakistan performed unbelievably well in all 3 departments. Opener Fakhar Zaman gave Pakistan a boost and put up a one-man show with an extraordinary 114 runs off 106 balls including 12 fours and 3 sixes. Furthermore, Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez also demonstrated influence with a score of 59 runs and 57 runs respectively. Pakistan’s bowling was exceptional, Pakistan made defeating the ex-champions like a piece of cake. Hassan Ali was awarded the golden ball while Fakhar Zaman was awarded “Man Of The Match”.
