Bilal Maqsood is the son of Anwar Maqsood, a popular Pakistani playwright as well as the other half of Strings, the biggest musical band of Pakistan. Bilal set up Strings along with three other members. However, the quartet separated after a year or so. However, Bilal, along with Faisal Kapadia, made a comeback in 1990 with their debut album, Strings. However, they received success in 1992, when the single, Sar Kiye Pahar, topped the charts and propelled the band to the top.
The duo have enjoyed massive success since then, and are the top band of Pakistan currently. Their albums, Dhaani, Duur and Koi Aanay Wala Hai were all highly anticipated and managed to live up to their billing, making them massive media icons.
