Imran Aslam has been associated with the media industry of Pakistan for more than three decades. Having been associated with newspapers like the evening newspaper 'Star' and morning daily 'The News', his experience as a journalist speaks for itself. Imran was also among the founding members of Geo Television and currently holds the position of the President of Geo TV.
His contributions to media have not been limited to journalism alone as he has also contributed as a playwright and actor. One of his most famous dramas as a playwright was the long play 'Rosie', based on the Hollywood film 'Tootsie'. Other famous dramas penned by him are 'Khaleej', 'Dastak' and 'Bisaat'
As a writer, he also translated classic foreign literature into Urdu and transformed them into scripts for stage plays. He has also appeared in a few TV and stage plays as an actor and is said to be the lead actor in a docudrama based on the letters and life of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah.
He is married to the well known cricket journalist Farishteh Aslam.
