Writing a drama is perhaps the most important and decisive step in the creation of what could be an artistic masterpiece. Although a lot depends on the direction, however, even directors need a good storyline and plot. This is what makes a good script so imperative to guarantee a drama's success.
Among the notable playwrights who have contributed to the Pakistani entertainment industry, a large number of them started off as columnists or published authors and then made their way to television. One such playwright is M.A. Rahat, who is already known in the literary circles for his contributions in literature.
In the mid 1990s, late Hameed Kashmiri adapted M.A. Rahat's novel 'Aitraaf' to write the screenplay of the drama by the same name. Most recently, the drama serial 'Gardish' saw M. A. Rahat as a playwright. The play was received warmly by the audiences for its strong storyline.
