Komal Rizvi is a name that rings a bell of familiarity in the minds of people who have grown up in Pakistan during the 1990s. Joining showbiz as a teenager, Komal entered the scene as a budding singer when she released her first single 'Saathiya' in the year 1993. While the song may have been forgettable, it did bring Komal into the limelight as she got noticed by TV producer Ghazanfar Ali.
After doing a few more songs, Komal got an offer for the PTV drama serial 'Hawayain' from Haider Imam Rizvi. Little did Komal know at that time that the drama she was working in just for fun would turn out to be such a huge success. She was then seen in a number of dramas such as 'Teesra Peher' and 'Samandar Hai Darmiyan'.
In the late 1990s, Komal went to India and took up the job of an anchor on Channel V, a move that was not received too well back home. After working as a VJ for a year and releasing a song called 'Baoji' in India, she made her way back home and took a break from acting. In recent years, she has reappeared in a reality show on MTV titled 'Komal'. Moreover, she has started singing again with the release of her song 'Chahiye'.
