Veteran TV actors Fareed Nawaz Baloch was among the pioneers of small screen acting in Pakistan. He started his television career in the year 1976 when his Urdu drama 'Gul-i-Jana' was aired from Pakistan Television. From here onwards, he launched a career that was to witness the most impressive dramas produced by the channel.
Among these, 'Deewarain' has been his most successful drama to date, leading on to another massive super hit serial 'Jungle'. During the 1990s, he appeared in another drama serial that created history by the name of 'Hawayain'. Other notable performances by him came in the plays 'Kahan Se Kahan Tak', 'Zeenat', 'Tapish', 'Karo Kari' and 'Faaslay'.
His last TV productions were 'Mohabbat Ka Ek Peher' and 'Suraj Girhan'. He also worked in three movies but did not choose to make a career out of cinema. He had devoted himself to PTV, which is proven by the fact that all his dramas were PTV productions. Following his death in 2002, his sons Yasir Nawaz and Danish Nawaz as well as daughter-in-law Nida Yasir set up a production house after his name.
