Those who have grown up in Pakistan during the 1990s have seen the evolution of Fakhr-e-Alam as a youth icon who introduced the local younger generation with a fusion of bhangra and rap. Fakhr entered music in the year 1993 as a budding singer cum rap artist, after releasing his first song 'Bhangra Rap'. The song was not only well received by the younger lot but also got appreciation across the borders.
In the meanwhile, he also took up the hosting duties of a music countdown show called 'Music Channel Charts', the same program where his first single's video was shown for the first time. Later on, he contributed to a number of collaborative songs with other bands that were popular at the time. At the zenith of his career as a video jockey, host and singer, Fakhr worked in a movie 'Very Good Duniya, Very Bad Log'. Although the movie failed at the box office, Fakhr's performance earned him the National Award for best debut performance.
In the recent years, Fakhr has taken up hosting gigs on several channels and has been actively involved in humanitarian activities such as the relief efforts for the 2005 earthquake victims. His last regular hosting job was with Geo Super where he hosted the show 'Bolain Kya Baat Hai', interviewing different sporting celebrities.
