Comedy has been one genre where Pakistani television stars have always capitalized. This is why the comedians produced by Pakistan are in great demand across the border as well as all over the world. The encouraging sign is that now a greater number of females are becoming comedians and proving their mettle. One such lady is Kanwal Nazar.
Kanwal has been a known name for the audiences in Pakistan because of her radio show on FM 103 as well as her acting in a number of dramas. Her popular dramas include 'Boond Boond Tanhai' (Indus Vision), 'Haroon To Piya Teri' (TV One), sitcom 'Jeena Tau Yehi Hai' (ARY Digital), telefilm 'Saans' (Geo TV) and long play 'Bicchoo Phuphi' (TV One).
In 2008, Kanwal followed the footsteps of many other Pakistani comedians and participated in a stand up comedy competition. The competition called 'Comedy Champions' was aired from the Indian channel Sahara One and made Kanwal a known name across the border as well.
