Rauf Khalid has been a very well known director, actor and writer who has produced some of the most unique dramas for television. After his success as a drama creator, he also ventured into film making. However, not many people know that he started his career with radio where he used to write the popular radio play 'Rozgar'.
After making his move towards TV, Rauf entered the medium as a playwright. He created a thriller series by the name of 'Madaar' which was aired in the year 1989. In 1991, he came up with one of the most popular comedy drama serials ever produced by Pakistan Television (PTV) by the name of 'Guesthouse'. In 1995, he wrote, directed, produced and acted in the drama 'Angaar Wadi', which was based on the violence in Kashmir Valley.
After being awarded the Pride of Performance by the government of that time for the play, Rauf came back with another drama serial 'Laag', which also attained the same heights of popularity as 'Angaar Wadi'. In recent years, he made the movie 'Laaj', which depicted the pre-partition era.
