Getting married into a family where performing arts have been given prominence and importance, it was but natural for Wajiha to enter the field of show business following the footsteps of her father in law Naeem Tahir, mother in law Yasmeen Tahir and husband Ali Tahir. Her debut came with the sitcom 'Teen Bata Teen' during the mid 1990s, which not only helped her launch her acting career but made her an instant success as well.
Although after 'Teen Bata Teen', TV directors did stereotype Wajiha as a comedy actress, she proved them wrong by appearing in a few serious dramas as well. Among them, the drama serial 'Ghuroor' has been the most successful, which aired from Pakistan Television (PTV). Although she did take a break from acting for some time, Wajiha made a comeback and this time she entered the field in a number of dramas on private channels.
Her recent appearances have been in the comedy dramas 'Main Tujh Se Pyar Karta Hoon' on Geo TV and 'Hustay Bustay', which aired on Hum TV.
