During the 1990s, Ali Tahir rose to prominence as a promising actor with tremendous potential. Acting is something that ran in Ali's family as both his parents, Naeem Tahir and Yasmeen Tahir, have been associated with show business for decades. Not only did Ali enter showbiz himself, he also encouraged his wife Wajiha Tahir to come into the field with him.
One of his earliest dramas was 'Ranjish', a production of Pakistan Television (PTV) Lahore Center. Getting a start from here, Ali then appeared in his most famous performance to date in the sitcom 'Teen Bata Teen'. He starred alongside his wife in the drama and shot to fame along with his other cast members. He also acted in the drama serials 'Pehchaan', which aired on Hum TV and 'Ghuroor' which was a PTV production.
His recent performances have been witnessed in the sitcom 'Main Tujh Se Pyar Karta Hoon', airing on Geo TV and 'Rani', which recently aired on PTV. He has also starred in the 2003 short film 'Kal', which was aired at the third Kara Film Festival.
