Many know Iqbal Ansari as actress and comedian Bushra Ansari's husband. However, very few people know that Bushra's career in showbiz got a major boost after her husband recognized her potential for acting and introduced her into dramas.
Starting his career as a director and producer at Pakistan Television in the year 1970, Iqbal's earliest projects included quiz shows and children programs. From here, he made a move towards drama direction and realized that this was the field actually meant for him. Among his most famous productions for PTV are 'Ab Mera Intezar Kar', 'Amawas', 'Anarkali' and 'Ajaib Ghar'.
In 2003, Iqbal made a move from PTV to Indus Vision and was criticized by the PTV authorities for making the move. However, he felt that the move was needed for him to further his career growth. After switching to private channels, he directed many popular dramas such as 'Tum Ho Ke Chup' (Geo TV), 'Meri Adhoori Mohabbat' (Geo TV), 'Bol Meri Machlee' (Geo TV) and long play 'Zuroor Milain Gey' (ARY Digital).
At present, he is working for Geo Entertainment.
