The initial years of Pakistan Television (PTV) saw paramount efforts from people both on and off the screen in making this new medium a success among the local viewers. With the largely anticipated growth and success of TV in Pakistan, many radio artists of that time migrated to this newly introduced medium and added their experience as well as expertise to promote television among the viewers.
Zafar Siddqui also belonged to the generation of radio and TV artists who helped in the establishment of PTV and worked with dedication to familiarize the audiences with the concept of television programming. He acted in a number of drama serials aired at the time when TV dramas were just beginning to catch roots in the country. One of his most popular dramas was 'Mirza Ghalib Bunder Road Per' during the black and white era.
In the same era, he acted in another landmark drama serial which went on to become one of the most highly anticipated dramas by viewers each week. The drama was called 'Khuda Ki Basti' and it became so popular that the drama was remade in the early 1990s. His most recent acting stint was in the early 1990s drama serial 'She Jee', which aired on former channel STN.
