Dedication to media and entertainment is something that runs in Salman Shahid's blood. His father Salim Shahid was a program producer for British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) while his mother Khurshid Shahid has been a renowned and seasoned actress with decades of experience onscreen. His earliest performance on TV came in the skit show called 'Such Gup', in which he shared screen space with Shoaib Hashmi and Naveed Shahzad.
Over the years, Salman has appeared in a number of popular TV productions. He appeared in the political drama 'Zard Dopeher' on Pakistan Television (PTV) during the early 1990s. During the same era, he acted in the long play 'Malika-e-Alam', also airing on PTV. Many of his dramas on PTV came as part of private productions such as Bisaat, Teen Bata Teen and Hoo Bahoo.
In recent times, he has acted in the comedy play 'Najanay Kyun' (PTV) and drama serial 'Khuda Aur Mohabbat' (Geo TV). He has also acted in a number of movies of international stature such as 'Khamosh Pani' (2004), 'Kabul Express' (2006) and 'Ishqiya' (2010).
