Writers have long had a say in drama serials in Pakistan. While there are many drama serials which are enacted on the basis of a novel, most of the dramas are exclusively written pieces for drama serials. Mainly, it is the director and the producer of these drama serials that achieve the maximum amount of recognition, while writers are often found more in the background. However, take nothing away from the writers of the Pakistani drama industry, as these individuals have ensured that new and successful dramas keep airing on the big screen, ensuring audiences remain happy. One of the writers who has managed to make quite a name for himself in a very short span of time is Shahid Masroor. Shahid joined the media industry just a few years back, but gained fame because of the massive successes enjoyed by drama serials written by him.
Shahid Masroor wrote the drama serial, Najiah. With a cast that included Farhan Ali Agha and Javeria Abbasi amongst others, the serial was very well received amongst audiences and was one of the widely viewed serials on HUM TV. He also wrote the drama series Hai Humsay on Geo TV. Class One was also written by him and aired ARY TV. Shahid Masroor is also the writer of Aik Hadees Aik Kahani as well as Rishtay, both of which were popular drama serials. Currently, Shahid hosts several televised programmes on Qtv. He is also a poet as well as a debater.
