Anyone who is familiar with classic Urdu literature must be well aware of who Asad Mohammad Khan is and how highly regarded he is in the realm of Urdu literature. Being a renowned poet and story writer, Asad Mohammad Khan is also known to be an amazing lyricist. It was his words in the semi classical masterpiece 'Anokha Ladla', which were sung to perfection by seasoned singer and ghazal maestro Tina Sani.
Asad Mohammad Khan is also accredited with a number of TV plays, among which the long play 'PNS Ghazi Shaheed' has been the most popular. The drama was written in commemoration of Defense Day in Pakistan and narrated the tale of the Pakistan Navy's submarine Ghazi that met an unfortunate end during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
His first collection of stories 'Khirki Bhar Aasman' was published in the year 1982. A collection of his stories has also been translated into English language by the name of 'Harvest of Anger and Other Stories'. Besides winning a number of awards and allocades for his contribution towards the promotion of Urdu literature, he was also awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan.
