It has not been long since Erum Binte Shahid entered show business as a drama director. However, even in this relatively short span of time, she has managed to direct some of the most popular dramas in recent times. In many ways, she had proven the fact that if a person has talent and works with complete dedication, there is no way that he or she will not succeed.
Erum's introduction to TV drama direction as a full fledged director came at a time when private channels were introduced in Pakistan. This is why nearly all of her dramas have been aired on private channels. One of the most successful plays directed by her is 'Aey Ishq Hamain Barbaad Na Kar', which aired on ARY Digital. Another drama serial of hers 'Ruswa' touched upon a very sensitive issue and was aired on Geo TV. She also directed 'Kaisa Yeh Junoon', which was an ARY Digital production.
She has also directed a number of long plays for special occasions, which include Mother's Day special play 'Kaisi Tanhaiyyan' (Geo TV), Valentine's Day special play 'Love Finally' (ARY Digital) and Eid special play 'Aalia, Sania Aur Woh' (ARY Digital).
Apart from drama direction, she also co-produced the short film 'Kal', which was aired in the 2003 Kara Film Festival.
