Much like many other novelists and published authors who made their way to television as playwrights, Maha Malik has been one name that was popular among Urdu fiction readers even before she started converting her novels into dramas. Her novel series that used to be published in Khwateen Digest by the name of 'Meray Khwab Reza Reza' that later got made into a drama by the same name, airing on Hum TV.
Her skills as a playwright were once again brought to the fore with the drama 'Sandal' produced by A & B Productions was aired on Geo TV and was appreciated for its strong storyline and originality in terms of how it dealt with the prevalent social issues.
Another one of her stories 'Haal-e-Dil' was again picked up by A & B Productions to make a drama by the same name. The drama serial was aired on ARY Digital and garnered immense popularity for the script that made it a powerful drama and an audience favorite.
