With majority of the contributors to the Pakistani TV medium coming from the bigger cities in the country, the role of the smaller cities cannot be ignored as well. In this regard, Pakistan Television (PTV) deserves credit for having its station in the five major cities of Pakistan from where talented individuals are proving themselves, both in terms of their performance on screen and their skills behind the camera.
Among the individuals who have made a name for themselves in the field of television drama direction, the name of Ataullah Baloch surely deserves a mention. Coming from PTV Quetta Center, Ataullah had stiff competition ahead of him in comparison to the more developed TV industries of Karachi and Lahore. However, he soon directed and produced a number of remarkable dramas which earned him recognition and fame.
His popular dramas include 'Aas' (as a director and producer) and 'Darwaza' (as a director). Both of these dramas were aired from PTV. Having spent a good time in the TV industry, Ataullah was also given an administrative position at PTV Quetta Center where he trained young directors like Abdullah Badini.
