While a number of actors introduced to the entertainment industry make their best effort to stick around and keep making an effort to make their presence felt even more strongly, there are some whose careers are cut short by fate. One such actress was Yasmin Ismail, who was extremely talented and gave her all to her performances but could not live long enough to see her career grow into something meaningful.
Most TV viewers would remember her from the time when she played Veeda in the popular PTV drama serial 'Tanhaiyyan'. Although she was surrounded by small screen stalwarts from all sides in the play, she gave one of her best performances, so much so that her character is remembered to date. She also played a pivotal role in the drama 'Tapish', directed by Sahira Kazmi.
In the early ninenties, she showed her comedic skills by acting in a sitcom with Khaled Anam and Badar Khalil. She was actively involved in theater and was the one to introduce TV host Ali Saleem (Begum Nawazish) to television. Yasmin also played a small role in the movie 'Deewanay Teray Pyar Ke' and gave a stellar performance in the long play 'Marhoom Brigadier Ki Betiyan' alongside Samina Ahmed.
In 2005, she passed away after losing her battle with cancer.
