Mahmood Ali was a famous Pakistani radio, stage and television actor. His most notable performance is that of Maulvi Sahib, in the play Taleem-e-Balighan, aired on PTV. Mahmood started off his career in 1945 with the All India Radio, and then migrated to Pakistan in 1947. He then joined Radio Pakistan, and performed in popular plays such as Hamid Mian Ke Haan.
He made his debut as an actor from Khuwaja Mohiuddin's Theater, with some of his most memorable roles being played in Lal Qila se Lalu Khait Tak and Mirza Ghalib Bandar Road Pe. He also received the Pride of Performance award in 1985.Mahmood made his debut on television with Rastay, after which he quickly became famous and performed in other notable plays such as Zer Zabar Pesh, Khuda Ki Basti and Laila Majnoon. Mahmood died in 2008, and was buried in the Wadi E Hussain graveyard located in Karachi, Pakistan.
