Lateef Kapadia was one of the most popular Pakistani TV television and stage actors. Born in India, Lateef migrated to Karachi when he was just 13 years of age. He started off in his career as a stage actor. His famous stage plays include Qissa Jagtay Sotay Ka, Ek Din Ka Sultan and Phir Bhi Hum Jeetay Rahey.
Then, in 1967, Lateef began acting in television plays. His debut on screen came in Sheeshay Kay Aadmi. Other notable performances include Fifty Fifty, Baarish, Nadan Nadia, Shikastay Aarzoo, Gurez, Barzakh, Ek Din Ka Sultan and QIssa Jagtay Sotay Ka. He received the award for the Pride of Performance in 2001, the highest honor available for actors. Lateef Kapadia died in 2002, leaving behind four daughters and a son. He was one of the legends of Pakistani cinema, and his dedication to the cause was one of the prime reasons for the success of Pakistani Lollywood.
