Salman Wajih ul Hassan belongs to the generation of writers which has always emphasized quality and standard of the story rather than commercialism. His experience in drama writing spans over more than a decade and in this time frame, he has successfully penned a number of dramas that have touched the hearts of millions of viewers in and outside of Pakistan.

His earliest dramas were televised on Pakistan Television (PTV). One of his initial dramas was 'Barson Baad', which was directed by Nasir Jaffri. Another one of his dramas for PTV was directed by Fahim Burney and it was called 'Bewafai'. With private channels surfacing in Pakistan during the early part of the new millennium, Salman migrated to private productions and kept producing gems after gems through his pen.

His famous dramas on private channels include 'Sada Suhagan' on Geo TV, 'Rastay Dil Ke' on TV One and 'Aangan Bhar Chandni', 'Karwatain' as well as 'Dil Ke Afsanay' on ARY Digital.
