Born in Tanzania, Wasti grew up there for 7 years. However, after her parents shifted to Pakistan, Wasti got interested in Business Management. However, she opted for acting by chance in a small show, which managed to impress the program manager of PTV Lahore, Bakhtiar Ahmed. She accepted his offer, and made her debut in a televised play known as Sarah aur Ammara.
Her popularity soon grew, and soon she was receiving roles from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Her most memorable play was Kallo, in which she was a dark skinned girl who had fallen in love with a 'gora aadmi' (white man). The role propelled her to the top, and she has since then acted in various different roles that highlight the issues of Pakistani women.
