Usually the next generations of a public figure or celebrity are overshadowed by the legacy left by their forefathers. However, there are some people who do not only follow that legacy but also manage to leave a mark of their own. Roomi Insha the son of popular columnist, humorist, satirist, poet and writer Ibne Insha is a freelance filmmaker residing in the Pakistani city of Karachi.
Starting his professional career as a graphic designer, Roomi Insha made a move to filmmaking when he discovered his love for the art. In 2003, his name emerged as a capable filmmaker when he made his debut as a director and released a telefilm for the first time. From that time onwards, Roomi Insha has not looked back and has been involved in filmmaking for television, creating drama series, documentary films, advertisements and videos for different songs.
His most famous work includes the telefilms made under the banner of 'Sprite Thund Program' and directed several television shows among which 'Fair & Lovely Qismat Ke Sitaray' and 'Aik Kahani' stand prominent. The popular soundtrack of the HumTV drama serial 'Meray Pass Pass' sung by Atif Aslam and Hadiqa Kiyani was also directed by him.
After becoming a part of the 'Moomal Productions', Roomi Insha expanded his directorial horizons by stepping into the role of a drama director. He has directed acclaimed drama serials such as 'Tum Jo Milay', 'Najiah', 'Mannchalay' and 'Tair-e-Lahooti', all of which were aired from HumTV. His upcoming drama serials include 'Mastana Mahi' and 'Mohabbat Ruth Jaye Tou'.
Although for many people it is not easy to live up to the standards left by their celebrity parents, Roomi Insha made a niche for himself with his outclass directorial work that garnered both public and critical appreciation. His first love, however, still remains filmmaking and it is something that he always looks forward to come back to.
