The name of Zakia Akbar is associated with a number of diverse jobs when it comes to the entertainment industry and specifically television. Not only has she proved herself as a seasoned actress in a number of plays, she has also showed her creative streak through her pen, writing some of the most amazing scripts in the history of Pakistani dramas. In fact, with time Zakia's role as a writer took over her acting skills and she has primarily devoted herself to drama writing.
As a writer, Zakia's collaboration with renowned TV drama director Kazim Pasha brought forward some of the most amazing dramas that are remembered by the viewers even after decades. The drama 'Uljhan', which aired in the 1990s has remained unforgotten even to this day with the powerful script that Zakia wrote and the flawless direction of Kazim Pasha. The team later produced drama serial 'Kashish' and in recent years, the drama serial 'Kath Putli', all airing from Pakistan Television (PTV) and acquiring the same amount of popularity.
She also wrote the comedy play 'Baray Baray Dahi Baray' for PTV, which was co-directed by Qasim Jalali and Haider Imam Rizvi.
