'Ankahi' was among the most popular and celebrated dramas produced by Pakistan Television (PTV) during the 1980s. Not only did the drama serial have all the essential ingredients of a family play but it also highlighted the emotional aspect of human lives.
Although the main leads of the drama serial were played by seasoned actors like Shahnaz Sheikh (playing Sana Murad), Javed Sheikh (playing Faraz) and Shakeel (playing Taimur), there were unforgettable supporting performances from late Salim Nasir (playing Mamoo), Behroze Sabzwari (playing Moby) and late Jamshed Ansari (playing Timmy).
However, one of the most important and memorable supporting performances came from a 9-10 year-old boy named Faisal Ansari, who was characterized as Saba Murad's younger brother Jibran. In the drama, Jibran is shown to be a bookworm who has a heart defect by birth and is consequently in a compromised state of health. Although he did not appear any other drama after 'Ankahi' but people still remember Faisal aka Jibran and his remarkable performance in the play.
