Music has always been a thriving industry in Pakistan with the country producing some of the best singers of all times in almost every genre. Not only have the Pakistani singers managed to carve a niche for themselves in the local market but their popularity has transcended boundaries and has created waves internationally as well. While in countries such as India, cinema is the major medium of promoting their local musicians, in Pakistan the decline of cinema has resulted in TV becoming the stronger medium as well as the window of opportunity for aspiring singers.
Zain Ali Khan had been an underground singer and composer before he got noticed by the drama producers of 'Wafa Kaisi, Kahan Ka Ishq', which was aired on Hum TV. Although Zain was only a new singer at the time, his voice quality and singing ability impressed the drama producers who chose him to sing the soundtrack for the play.
The song, having the same name as the drama, became a massive hit much like the drama itself. The song's lyrics were penned by renowned lyricist Sabir Zafar and music was given by Owais Masood.
