Shakeel is a very famous Pakistani actor, who is perhaps known for his evergreen roles in Uncle Urfi and as the peaceful Mehboob Ahmed, in Aangan Teyrha. The highlight of his career came when he was chosen for acting in an English picture, entitled Butterflies are free. He received his basic education from an English school in British India, after which he and his family migrated to Karachi in 1952.
He debuted in the Pakistani media industry with the movie Honehar, in the year 1966. Since then, he has acted in a various different films and dramas, and has also received a Pride of Performance award, in the year 1992. His philanthropic activities are also quite popular in Pakistan. Shakeel played Liaquat Ali Khan in the popular 1998 film, Jinnah.
