Playing the role of Emperor Akbar in the hit song 'Supreme Ishq', sung by Shabnam Majeed with its video directed by ace director Shoaib Mansoor, Rasheed Naz needs no introduction to the television and film audiences of Pakistan.
Rasheed's career as a television artist began in the year 1971 when he took up a role in a Pashto language TV drama. From there onwards, he appeared in numerous dramas in Urdu and Pashto. His debut Urdu drama was 'Aik Tha Gaoon', which was aired in 1973. Among his popular Urdu dramas, 'Namoos' and 'Dasht' are remembered by TV audiences to this day.
In 1988, Rasheed made his film debut in a Pashto language film 'Zama Jang'. In 2007, he was cast in Shoaib Mansoor's directorial debut project as a film director
called 'Khuda Ke Liye'. The film revived the declining film industry of Pakistan with its strong story in backdrop of real events.
In 2009, Rasheed was awarded the Pride of Performance award for his contributions to the entertainment industry of Pakistan.
