Umera Ahmed is a popular Pakistani screenplay writer and fiction novelist. Her most popular book, Peer-e-Kamil was a massive hit and is considered to be one of the most successful Pakistani novels of all time. She is also the writer of Meri Zaat Zara E Benishan, a very famous Pakistani drama serial.

She gained repute in a relatively short period of time, with novels such as Man-o-Salwa, Lahasil, Amar Bail, Darbar-e-Dil and Sauda. Most of Umera's novels revolve around social problems faced by women of the Pakistani society. Having done her Masters from Murray College, Sialkot in English literature, Umera has also written several hit screenplays, such as Doraha, Wapsi, Qaid-e-Tanhai and the critically acclaimed Uraan. She has received numerous awards for her works, as mentioned below:
