Throughout the history of television, there have been many artistes who kept a very selective approach towards the projects they worked on. As a result, these artistes may not have achieved a super star status but some of their performances are still fresh in the minds of the viewers. Zeba Akbar is also among those artistes whose performances on television, though not that frequent, have left a mark on the viewers every time.

Best known for her role in 'Zaibunnisa', one of the most popular drama serials aired on Pakistan Television (PTV), Zeba Akbar played the role of 'Salma', the lead character's younger sister. Playing the role of a young doctor, Zeba Akbar portrayed a progressive female who wanted to change the situation of her lower middle class household. With her role shaped up to perfection under the direction of renowned director Sahira Kazmi, Zeba's role as a supporting actress received massive appreciation.

Later on with the introduction of private channels, Zeba was seen in a variety of roles in the dramas on various private channels. Among these, she appeared in a comedy play called 'Gharana Fasana' that aired on Geo Television in 2009. Following this performance, Zeba Akbar was seen in a HumTV production by the name of 'Pehla Pathar', a special play produced by Moomal Productions in 2010. In the play, Zeba appeared alongside veteran television artiste Sakina Sammoo and was then cast for a HumTV telefilm directed by Sakina Sammoo by the name of 'Kon Qamar Ara'.
