Hameed Shaikh is one of the most renowned Pakistani TV stars. Having been born in Quetta, Hameed started working in local school and theater productions. He then started performing from the Quetta Center of PTV. He rose to fame with his performance in the 1984 drama serial, Naqab Sang. For a brief period of time after that, Hameed returned to theater before returning on TV as the lead character in the TV film Pezwan. He also gained lots of popularity for his roles in drama serials Wapsi and Zanjeer. He was also the producer of Zanjeer himself.

Alongside Jamal Shah, Hameed gave one of the best performances in his career in the drama serial Kal, in 1995. Then, in 2001, he joined CNN as a freelance producer and was the line producer for a Malay film, Qasi and Leila. He also released his own films, such as Holy Sinner. His performances in films such as Wapsi Kay Baad, Ishq, Matti and Khuda Kay Liye have gained him a lot of positive reviews. He also starred in the award winning British film Kandahar Break in 2009. Currently, he is working on another film with a US film company.
