In recent years, Pakistani entertainment industry has seen new avenues of growth and the induction of countless new talented individuals entering into the field. It is especially more heartening to see is that there are many young individuals showing interest towards direction and production. Among these new entrants, Shehzad Riaz has been one bright young man.
Shahzad's name came to the fore when he was involved in the production of the musical band Fuzon's first album 'Saagar', released in the year 2002 and rereleased in 2004. Shahzad was given the responsibility of creating the visual effects for the album, which received a lot of appreciation from the audiences.
In 2006, he teamed up with Atiqa Odho and director Imran Patel for a short film titled 'Mout Se 2 Minute Pehlay'. The 25 minute-long film was presented in the Kara Film Festival 2006 and depicted both the ironic side of life as well as its dependency on destiny. Starring Mohib Mirza and Adarsh Ayaz, the film received good response from the jury for its mature handling of the topic.
At present, he is involved in the production of the drama serial 'Zard Pattey Sa Yeh Dil', which is being aired from TV One. Coproduced by Muhammed Abbas, directed by Muhammed Iftikhar Iffi and written by Wasi Shah, the drama serial also boasts of a stellar cast with the likes of Nauman Ejaz, Mehreen Raheel, Firdous Jamal, Seemi Raheel, Ahsa Khan and Imran Abbas.
