With her real name Sonya Rizvi and a striking resemblance with her grandmother Madam Noor Jehan, Sonya Jehan has been one of the most beautiful and talented young actresses to make their way into show business in recent times. Sonya has frequently been found telling the media that the reason behind her taking up the surname Jehan was to honor her late grandmother, who was a singing legend in the subcontinent.
Settling in India after her wedding to Vivek Narain, Sonya has mostly been associated with Bollywood projects. Her debut film was the epic film 'Taj Mahal' highlighting the relationship between Mughal Emperor Shahjahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Although the movie did not receive much positive reviews, Sonya's on screen presence and beauty was a much talked about topic in the Indian media.
Over the years, she has also appeared in other Bollywood movies such as 'Khoya Khoya Chand' and more recently playing Shahrukh Khan's sister-in-law in 'My Name is Khan'. Her projects in Pakistan have mostly been limited to TV commercials, the most popular among them being the Telenor Talkshawk ads in which she appeared alongside Ali Zafar.
