According to bowling coach of Pakistan Cricket team Azhar Mahmood, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir is fit and ready to play the finals against India. Amir is already participating in training sessions.
Unfortunately, Mohammad Amir wasn’t able to play the semi-final against England due to a back injury sustained during the warm-up.
Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir3 was eventually replaced by Raees who made an impressive debut against the tournament hosts. In his interview with the journalists, Azhar Mahmood mentioned:
“Amir did Bowl today, he is fit. We want to introduce a culture in Pakistan cricket where we should have bench strength. Like Amir could not play the last match but Raees came in for him. We want to ensure that we have players with the skill and ability to perform on any stage.”
Since the first face-off against India in the start of the tournament, we’ve seen a tremendous improvement in Pakistan’s performance as well as bowling. It seemed as if Pakistan wanted to showcase their skills and hard work against teams that actually mattered. When asked about the huge bowling improvement, Azhar Mohammad mentioned:
“It didn’t happen overnight. It took us almost six months. And there is still room for further improvement. The guys are willing to learn and they want to perform. All the credit goes to the bowlers; I haven’t done anything miraculous.”
He further mentioned:
“The guys took extra responsibility and showed courage. The way they responded to their critics and the way they fought back, it shows how much hard work they did in the last six months.”
Pakistan Vs India
Pakistan is going to play against India on Sunday for the ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan is ready and confident to not make the same mistakes as it did against India in its first match of the tournament. Azhar Mahmood quoted loss of Pakistan as “not lack of planning but an ineffective execution.” He also highlighted the biggest mistake of Pakistan, which was dropping the catches of Yuvraj Singh and Kohli, according to him these are the kinds of players to snatch the game right from your hands.
While millions of people had expectations from Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir4 and Junaid Khan, Hassan Ali shocked the fans with his outstanding performance. He holds 10 wickets in the tournament, the highest so far.
