India vs Bangladesh match in T-20 ICC World Cup 2016 was fixed, according to Tauseef Ahmed who is a former Pakistan international cricketer. Touseef called for an ICC inquiry to look further into details of this match.
Touseef claimed that the way three wickets fell on last three balls indicated that there was something wrong. Probably the match was fixed because Bangladesh could have easily scored 1 run in the last over and yet they didn’t. Pakistani off-spinner Touseef Ahmed thinks ICC should look into the matter.
India, who beat Pakistan and then Bangladesh to make it to the next stage in the 2016 T20 word cup, were knocked out by West Indies in the semi finals. Now Indies have reached T-20 finals of both Men and Women world cup at the same time. It is definitely a great moment of honor for West Indian cricket.
During the India vs Bangladesh match, India scored only 146 for loss of seven wickets while batting first. It was a slow pitch but India could have always accumulated more runs. Nevertheless, Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli made sure that Indian team reaches a competitive total on a slow pitch. In response, Tamim started off really well along with Sabbir. Then Shakib came along and helped Bangladesh setup a nice platform for an easy win. However, it never had to be. The match ended the way no one had anticipated, not even the Indian crowd. India managed to clitch the win in the end even when Bangladesh needed only 3 runs in the last over.
Bangladesh, who is now an experienced side, panicked in the last over despite having senior and experienced players on the pitch. They are not an experienced team by any measures, as noted by Touseef Ahmed. Despite Touseef and few other international crickets calling ICC for an inquiry, there seems no interest from ICC on the match.
