Arth, the classic Indian romantic movie by Mahesh Bhatt is the first ever Bollywood movie that is in making again in Pakistan. The role of Raj Kiran in the Indian Arth is being played by Shaan Shahid while the role of Smita Patil is being played by Humaima Malick in the Pakistani version of the film.
The name of this Pakistani version of Arth is Arth 2. Apart from Shaan Shahid and Humaima Malick, there are some other well-known faces from the Pakistani film industry in the movie. Uzma Hassan is playing the role played by Shabana Azmi formerly and Mohib Mirza will be found acting as Kulbhushan Kharbanda. This remake is a retelling of the story and is set in Lahore. This idea was put forth in a meeting of Shaan Shahid with Mahesh Bhatt when Shaan expressed his desire to remake the amazing film as a treat for the new generation of Pakistan.
Mahesh Bhatt Approving the Idea
An Indian magazine has reported that Mahesh Bhatt has given this story and the screenplay rights to Shaan without charging any money. Also, Mahesh is a great supporter of the idea. Shaan Shahid said in an interview that Arth is the first film with the DNA of an Indian story to be set in Pakistan. He also said that this will help to strengthen the film trade between two countries. Shaan also shared some posters of the film in order to give the audience the first look the film. He posted these posters on his Instagram account. As per the posters show, there is a huge difference from the original Arth. The posters have a very modern look and the tagline is also very impressive that is “decisions determine destiny”.
