CyberCrime Bill Passed – Severe Punishments for Law Violations
Cybercrime bill is passed in the national assembly. If anyone violates the law he would be sued and punished also. 3G internet is now available everywhere including villages if anyone careless about the rules and regulations he will have to pay for it.
Let have a look on the crimes and its punishment:
If anyone tries to get others personal information system or data without permission he will be punished for 3 months or have to pay 50 thousand rupees or maybe both of it.
We will inform you about the crimes and the punishments further, you can estimate how it is dangerous if you commit a cyber crime. Checking anyone’s phone , Laptop etc without getting permission, it will cost of 3 months punishment or 50 thousand rupees surcharge or may be both of it.
Copying anyone’s data without permission, Culprit will be punished for 6 months or one lac rupees surcharged or both of it.
If you raised anyone’s data you would be punished for two years or penalty of 5 lacs rupees. The culprit may be punished and he has to pay surcharge also if he can’t prove in the court that he unintentionally arises the data.
More importantly, if anyone tried to access the government websites illegally like hacking etc, he will be punished for 3 years or have to pay the surcharge of 10 lacs rupees or both.
Illegally approaching the others data or copying it is also a big crime, and the guilty have to pay 10 to 50 lacs rupee penalty or 3 to 5 years of punishment or both. Damaging important data can cost the punishment of 7 years or surcharge of one crore rupees or both of them.
On committing cyber terrorism, punishment is decided for 14 years or has to pay the surcharge of 5 crores rupees. In the case of trapping or Fraud, using anyone’s identity illegally is a crime and cause punishment or surcharge.
Posting anyone’s picture illegally is a crime and would be punished for two years or penalty of 10 lacs rupees. Now one must be careful before sharing politicians pictures if anybody claims in the court it can ruin your life. Sharing or posting vulgar pictures or videos is also illegal, the culprit would be punished for 7 years or surcharge of 50 lacs rupees or both of them.
Harassing anyone or doing vulgar talk can cause the punishment of one year. According to the law clause 19, cropping vulgar pics and pasting others faces is also a crime.
Until the Cybercrime bill passed legally, it is over moral duty to acknowledge others about these crimes. Citizen rights institutes are against this law, they say that this not right to squelch our voices.
