Marriage is surely one of the most memorable and awaited event in an individual's life and making the wedding eve a special topic in the drama industry, Geo TV launched a series of dedicated dramas based on the interesting events and haphazardness during the planning of a wedding. Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat is comedy drama which is still remembered by the audience it attracted initially.
Been written by Mohammad Ahmed, the drama is directed by none other than the great actress herself, Marina Khan. The drama lies under the title of Evernew Productions while the executive production is done by veteran actor Nadeem Baig. The cast of the drama includes Bushra Ansari, Javed Sheikh, Saba Hameed, Samina Ahmad, Shehryar Zaidi, Sarwat Gillani, Hasan Niazi, Natasha Ali, Raheel Butt, Sana Askari and Uroosa Siddiqui.
The drama revolves around the central character Azar and as the title reveals, it is his marriage which turns into a controversial event for the two families. He is an orphan who lives with his uncle Shauqat Chaudhry. Being wealthy and down-to-earth, he is nice to Azar always. His wife Saima is a fashion designer and a real hilarious one. Shauqat and Saima has two children Waqar and Dolly. Waqar, who was sent to study abroad secretly married a sikh woman. When the family learns about it, Waqar has to face a tough time. Dolly is interested in his cousin Azar but feeling not that way towards her, rejects the idea of marrying her. Aar is then made married to Sellla who is the daughter of Rabia. Sella's parents are divorced where Rabia and Faraz are not in touch but Sella often communicates with her father and even invites him on her wedding. Waqar, too, arrives in Karachi along with Nito to attend Azar's marriage. He tells his parents about his marriage when his mother forces him to propose Laila, Sella's close friend.
All in all, the entire story is like a dragon ride where we see new incidents hitting the family one after another and the comedy touch given to it.
