Nazia Hassan, known as Queen of Pop, not only broke records but also showed Pakistani women the way forward. Nazia and her brother Zohaib became the ultimate pop sensation of the sub-continent as the duo delivered hit after hit. Now Bollywood is planning to make a biopic on the famous ‘disco’ duo.
Nazia Hassan and Zohaib broke all records of the time with their epic disco album “Disco Deewane”. The album recorded more than 65 million sales worldwide – a feat that no artist from subcontinent had achieved before the ‘disco’ duo.
Nazia died of cancer at a young age of 35. Zohaib, who was shattered after her death, didn’t continue in the music industry and isolated him from showbiz. He was recently scene on Coke Studio performing live for the first time after Nazia’s death.
Zohaib told the press that he had been approached by a writer from India who had written a script for a film that will tell the life story of the duo. Zohaib will be singing his parts in the movie but they will be using some unheard recordings that Nazia did before her death. The movie will include hits such as Disco Deewane, Tere Quadmon, Boom Boom and Dosti along with a few new and unreleased tracks.
“However, he will be helping with the musical score. The soundtrack will have the earlier hits like Disco Deewane, Dosti, Boom Boom, Tere Quadmon but also some new, unreleased tracks.”
