Asad Ahmed: Pakistan’s Oldest Guitarist To Release His Solo Album


Ace guitarist of the country, Asad Ahmed, is soon going to release his debut solos on the album. The title of the album is rebirth and it consists of ten tracks. Asad Ahmed himself is also much excited about his upcoming album and he feels as if it is his own rebirth.


Asad Ahmed has been on a venture with many famous bands of Pakistan since the past 2 decades. He worked with Barbarians, played with Vital Signs, and also collaborated with Junoon. He formed the band Karavan and also worked with many other artists. But now, Asad Ahmed is going to make his solo debut with the release of his own album named rebirth. The album is expected to be released on July 14, 2017, having ten tracks and all of them will be instrumental. Asad Ahmed told a newspaper that:

“The idea to release an instrumental album came to me when I was touring the US with Ali Zafar four years ago”

Rebirth: A Personal Journey For Asad Ahmed

Asad Ahmed has been working for his album rebirth since the past 4 years. He said:

“I feel like Rebirth is me shedding my skin and coming clean. It’s about my rebirth. I’ve extensively worked for decades and while I’m proud of the work I’ve done, I feel times have changed,” he said.

“I listen to Pakistani music and I listen to the music produced globally and I see ours is quite outdated. So, with Rebirth, I am saying this is the sound of the 21stcentury and the future.”

The versatile album is going to cover all the rock, blues, jazz influences from Asad Ahmed’s musical journey as he said:

“It’s an all-out rocker. It’s got a riff, which is all-out piledriver.”
