doubt and bewilderment. And when we see him crying and
supplicating through the night for the tragedy—of which he
had prior knowledge—to be averted, we realize that he was "

" That is: Allah has sent down to you the Book and Wisdom,
i.e., He has revealed to you proofs of the truthfulness
of the Book and your Prophethood, and has taught you
that you could not know by yourself, and great is Allah’s
grace upon you.
Then, in Surah Al-Najm, God says:

That is: The heart of the Holy Prophetsa never denied the
heavenly signs of his truthfulness that he saw, which means
that he was never in doubt about them. The eye wandered
not to the right, nor to the left, nor did it transgress the
limit, rather it settled right on the truth and stuck to it.
Surely, he saw the greatest of the signs of his Lord.
O readers, and lovers of the truth! Consider with justice and
fairness, how expressly God Almighty has informed us that
the Holy Prophetsa possessed perfect insight and full conviction,
and his Prophethood was true, and great signs were
shown in his support.
In short, there is not a word, not a jot, in the Holy Quran, "

" misconception.
The objection is shown to be completely unfounded when
we analyze the verses in which God praises the Holy
Prophet’ssa perfect faith. He says: 9 That
is: Say, I have received from my Lord clear proofs of the
truth of my Prophethood. In another verse He says:

That is: Say, this is my path, so with full and certain
knowledge do I invite you to Allah. In yet another verse,
God says:
9 Al- "

" to warn him against it. Mosesas, after all, is the man of God
whom He has honoured with the following words in this
very chapter: "For thou hast found grace in My sight, and I
know thee by name." (Exodus:17)
Remember, the same style is used by the Holy Quran. Both
the Torah and the Holy Quran address their commandments
to Mosesas and the Holy Prophetsa, respectively, but the
commandments are intended for their respective ummas.
Those who are ignorant of this style, may naively imagine
that these commandments and warnings are addressed to
the Prophets who received them, but a little reflection over
the context of these verses shows tha "

" verses that addressing a class of people in the form of an
individual, is a common idiom of the Holy Quran. The
same idiom is used in the commandments of the Torah,
which are apparently addressed to a single person, but are
intended for the Israelites as a whole. We have an example
of this in Exodus, Chapters 33 and 34, where Mosesas is the
apparent addressee: (11) Observe thou that which I command
thee this day. (12) Take heed to thyself, lest thou
make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither
thou goest. (17) Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
When viewed in their context, it becomes clear that though
these verses apparently address only one person, i.e.,
Mosesas, he is not the one for whom the commandments are
really intended; for he never went to Canaan, nor could we
expect a Man of God and an idol-breaker like Mosesas to be
guilty of the sin of idolatry. There was no need, therefore, "

" word expressive of disgust, nor reproach them, but address
them with kind words. And lower to them the wing of humility
out of tenderness. And say: My Lord, have mercy on
them even as they nourished me in my childhood.
It is evident from these verses that the use of the second
person singular relates to the umma, and it has been used
more than once in these very verses. The addressee is not
the Holy Prophetsa, for the verses teach respect and obedience
to parents, and we know that the Holy Prophet’ssa
parents had passed away in his early childhood.
It is established from this verse and from numerous other "

" such a clear statement, that the Holy Prophetsa was in doubt
about his own Prophethood, betrays nothing but gross ignorance
and sheer prejudice.
Someone may think that if it were the new converts or
sceptics—weak of faith—who were being admonished for
their doubts, the address should have been in the plural
'you', not the singular 'thou'. What is the reason for using
the second person singular, instead of the second person
plural, when the weak of faith are likely to be many and not
just one? The answer is that the singular is often used for a
class as a whole, which denotes plurality. You only have to
read the Holy Quran from beginning to end to realize that
this is the idiom commonly used by the Holy Quran. It frequently
addresses a class of people in the form of an
individual. Let us take, for example, the following verses:

That is: Set not up with Allah another God lest thou sit
down disgraced and forsaken. Thy Lord has commanded:
Do not serve anyone but Allah and worship none but Him,
and show kindness to parents. If one of them or both of
them attain old age with thee, never say unto them any "

" That is: Shall I seek for judge anyone other than Allah,
when He it is Who has sent down to you the comprehensive
Book. And those to whom We gave the Book (i.e., who
have been given knowledge of the Quran) know full well
that it has been sent down from thy Lord; so (O reader) be
not of those who doubt.
A look at these verses makes it quite apparent that 'those
who doubt' are those who have thus far partaken only a
small portion of faith, certitude and knowledge. It also appears
from the verses quoted above that, 'be not of those
who doubt,' are the words of the Holy Prophetsa himself,
which have been quoted by the Holy Quran. The passage
begins with these words, which can only have been spoken
by Holy Prophetsa: The idiomatic translation
of these verses would be as follows: I cannot appoint anyone
but Allah as judge to judge between you and me. And
He is the One Who has sent down to you this Book clearly
explained. So those who have been given knowledge of the
Book know also that this Book is from God. Therefore,
thou (ignorant one), be not of those who doubt.
This proves that it was not the Holy Prophetsa who was in
doubt, rather he admonished those who were in doubt
through testimony and argument. To claim, in the face of "

" to doubt.5 The verses which follow continue to deal with
the same subject. Allah says:

That is: From wheresoever thou comest forth, turn thy face
towards the Kaaba; for that indeed is the truth from thy Lord.
It is obvious that these verses relate to the Kaaba and to
nothing else. Since the commandment requiring worshippers
to turn towards the Kaaba in their prayers is a general
injunction addressed to all believers—some of whom, due
to their susceptible dispositions, may be prone to doubt and
uncertainty—they have been told not to be troubled as to
why they have turned their faces towards the Kaaba while
they had previously been offering their prayers facing Jerusalem.
They were told that there is nothing new in the
change, for, it had been ordained right from the beginning
and had been foretold by the Prophets of God. They should,
therefore, not be in any doubt about it.
The other verse which the critic has quoted to support his
claim is from Surah Al-An‘am, which is given here with its
accompanying verses:

In support of his assertion, the critic has quoted an incomplete
verse of Surah Al-Baqarah. The complete verse is as follows:

When viewed in context of the preceding and following
verses, it becomes amply clear that the subject under consideration
is neither Prophethood nor the Holy Quran. The
only point being stated is that, from now on, Muslims
should pray with their faces turned towards the Kaaba and
not towards Jerusalem. "This is the Truth", says God,
meaning that the Kaaba is the direction for prayer that had
been appointed from the very beginning, and this is a fact
which has been recorded in ancient Scriptures. Therefore,
(O reader of the Book) be not among those who are prone "

Had Muhammadsa really been a Messenger, he would not
have responded so helplessly to questions put to him, and
would not have said, 'Only God knows'; which implies that
he did not know. Nor would he have lied about the number
of Ashab-e-Kahaf,3 nor would he have said that the Sun sets
in a murky pool, for the Sun is 90 million times larger than
the earth and it can not possibly hide in a pool of murky
water.
Question No. 3
Muhammadsa was never granted any miracles, as is stated
in Surah Al-‘Ankabut: 'They say why were not a few signs
sent down to him from his Lord.' (That is to say, 'Why was
not a single sign sent down to him,' for, the expression 'La'
in this verse is a universal negative, and it implies the negation
of a class as a whole.) Then, in Surah Bani Isra’il, we
read, 'And We did not send signs because people had rejected
them before.' Which means that God did not give
him any miracles. If he had been given even one miracle,
he would not have been in doubt about [his own]
Prophethood, nor about the Quran. "

Muhammadsa was in doubt about his own Prophethood and
about the Holy Quran being the Word of God, as is evident
from this verse of Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-An‘am:
This shows that in his heart of hearts he knew that he was
not a Messenger of God. Had he been one, or had he shown
any miracles, or had the Mi‘raj been a reality, or had the
Quran been revealed to him by Gabriel, he would never
have been in doubt about his own Prophethood. This proves that he was in doubt about the Holy Quran and his
own Prophethood. Hence he is not a Prophet of God. "

" In 1890 God Almighty revealed to him that Hadhrat Isa ibn Maryam (AS) had passed away like all previous prophets. The belief that he is alive in the heavens, is false and against the teachings of the Holy Quran. Also he proclaimed that the Messiah whose advent was foretold by Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace & blessings of Allah be on him, has appeared in his person. God has sent this Promised Messiah to reform the world and to spread the pristine teachings of Islam.

His announcement and claim to be the Promised Mahdi and the Messiah brought him numerous converts, but there were some that turned against him. Erstwhile friends became his foes. Some Muslim divines declared him a heretic. The Christians did not lag behind either as they raised a fierce storm of opposition. The reason Christians opposed him was the fact that Jesus Christ's death dealt a fatal blow to the very foundation of Christianity. They believed Christ to be their Lord, but this claim made him a dead god.

This intense opposition resulted in many debates between him, the Muslim divines, and the Christian missionaries. For instance in 1891 he held debates with Maulvi Muhammad Hussain sahib Batalvi, Maulvi Sayyed Nazeer Hussain sahib Dehlvi and Maulvi Muhammad Bashir sahib Bhopali. In 1892 he held debates with Maulvi Abdul Hakim Kalanauri. In 1893 he held a famous debate with Christian missionary Abdulla Athim. These debates brought him many pious & devoted converts. "

This great sign is referred to as Sign of the Eclipses. This sign has been pointed out in Chapter al-Qiyama (75:9) of the Holy Quran also. In the Bible (Mark 13:24) it is also stated “ But in those days, after that tribulation, the Sun shall be darkened, and the Moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall be falling from the heaven and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken�.

This was another glorious sign manifested by Allah the Exalted to prove the truthfulness of His servant the Promised Messiah (AS). "

" Hadhrat Ali bin Umar al-Darqutni (918-995) has recorded a tradition (Hadith) of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing of Allah be on him, in his book Sunan Dar Qutni, as reported by Hadhrat Imam Baqar, regarding the appearance of Imam Mahdi. It states that one of the signs for the appearance of the Mahdi will be that the Moon will be eclipsed on the first night of the three possible nights of an eclipse. And the Sun will be eclipsed on the middle day of the three possible days of an eclipse. Both will occur in the month of Ramadhan.
This heavenly sign occurred during the month of Ramadhan in April 1894 when Hudhoor had already declared that he was the Mahdi Mauood (Promised Mahdi). There was an eclipse of the Moon on the first night of the three possible night’s i.e. the 13th Ramadhan, 1311 Hijra (March 21st, 1894) and there was an eclipse of the Sun on the middle day of the three possible days i.e. 28th Ramadhan 1311 Hijra (April 6th, 1894). "

"My mother, ummal momineen narrated to me that once Mirza Nizam ud Din sb. (he was mirza's cousin- shareeka) had very high fever that affected his brain as well. At that time there was no doctor around, relatives of mirza Nizamud Din informed mirza saheb. He immediately went there and did a proper treatment. That treatment was that he slaughtered a hen and tied on his head after which his condition improved. At that time there was a mutual opposition (with Nizamdin family)"

Disinclination towards world and recourse to Allah

At the end of the Hadith of Sahih Bukhari mentioned above, the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) also said that riches

shall start flowing like torrents in the times of Hazrat Isa(AS) to the extent that nobody will come forward to take them and

one prostration in prayer will be deemed better than all the world can offer. (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 1, P. 49). Reason will be

that men will be disinclined towards accepting worldly riches, as Hazrat Isa's descent will assure them that the Day of

Reckoning is close at heels. They will abstain from sins. Secondly, Hazrat Isa's guidance, transmuting vices into virtues,

will tend to brighten human values of godliness. Thus, with the world having disgorged its fortunes, and indigence having

disappeared, nobody will obviously be left to accept alms and zakat (obligatory charity payable on wealth, mistakenly known

as "poor-due"). In this situation, Salat, as a means of attaining Divine proximity, will take precedence over worship through

alms and charitable deeds. Therefore, one prostration on ground will carry more value than all that the world would offer.

Contrarily, the scenario at Mirza's time was one of greed, avidity and voluptuousness, so much so that vices, in all hues and

colors, worsened in Mirza's own Jamaat in those days and he lived through to see this horrendous spectacle.

My Last Word

Because you, my brother-in-humanity, have asked me to avoid incurring Allah's displeasure and that of the Prophet(sallallaho

alaihe wassallam) and have warned me, I reciprocate the same tidings to you and through you to your Organization and finally

to your Mirza Nasir (the Qadiani Khalifa at the time of this writing) coolly to think over Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's stance, in

the light of the pronouncements of Allah and His Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam). If you find that your Mirza Ghulam

Ahmad truly fits into being called Masih, go ahead and accept him so, but if not, then reject him. Believing in him means

disbelieving in Allah and His Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam). Don't do injustice to yourself. Now that fifteenth

century is soon to come * in, we should wait for the arrival of a new revivalist (Mojadded) by rejecting the claim of Mirza

Sahib and confirming the pronouncements of our holy Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam), because Mirza Ghulam Ahmad himself

said:

If I manage to accomplish in support of Islam that work which the promised Masih and the promised Mahdi should do, then I am

truthful and if nothing is done and I am dead, then let all be witness that I am a liar.

Therefore, if I fail in the manifestation of this essential intent notwithstanding millions of tokens coming forth from me,

then I am a Liar."

Remember, Mirza's long windy predictions, his revelation claims 'from the blue', his poetic loquacity are hallucinations that

descended upon this sick man, alas! Beware, your press conferences, media coverages, and periodical meetings, etc. are trash.

These are rotten commodities that would not sell in the market of truth and rightfulness. Don't believe in Mirza's

circumlocutions, concoctions, circumventions, and 'millions of tokens', which prove Mirza a straight liar. Call him a liar,

as he himself wants you to call him in his above quotation. He does not meet the standard set forth by the holy

Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam), so he is not the "Promised Masih", nor is it justified to call him "Promised Masih".

In the end, I invite you to believe in the holy saying of the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) and leave Mirza's

brain-child. Allah shall grant you great recompense on this act of yours, but if you turn away, remember, no sooner the pangs

of death start than the truth will unravel you.

At last Dajjal will turn towards Madinah Tayyibah but will not be able to enter Madinah and will encamp behind Uhad mountain.

Then, angels of Allah, the Exalted, will turn his direction towards the country of Syria and having gone there, he will

perish

At the time when Dajjal will be heading towards Syria, Hazrat Imam Mahdi will be busy fighting holy war with Christians on

the front of Constantinople. Hearing that Dajjal had emerged, he would return to the country of Syria and will array his

troops for a battle. At the time of 'Fair' Salat, when the congregation will be in a standing position before start of

Prayers, Hazrat Isa will descend. Hazrat Mahdi will bring him forward to lead prayers and will himself go behind but Hazrat

Isa will order him to lead. (Mishkat , P. 480). After finishing prayers, Hazrat Isa(AS) will go out to face Dajjal. He would

run off on seeing Hazrat Isa and will start melting like lead. Hazrat Isa(AS) will overtake him at Bab-e-Lud (at present

under Israeli possession) and kill him. (Mishkat, P. 473).

Imam Tirmizi according to a narration of Hazrat Mujammi ibn Jariyah(RA) relates this holy saying of the holy

Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) that "Hazrat Isa(AS) will kill Dajjal at 'Bab-e-Lud', and says:

Ahadith in this context have been related from Imran bin Husain, Naafey bin Aqbah, Abi Barzah, Huzaifah bin Usaid, Abi

Hurairah, Kaisan, Usman bin Abil Aas, Jabir, Abi Umamah, Ibne Masood, Abdullah bin Umar, Samurah bin Jundab, Nawwas bin

Samaan, Umar bin Auf, Huzaifah bin Yaman (that is from fifteen Companions or Sahabah). This Hadith is Sahih."

(Tirmizi, Vol. 2, P. 48).

Above is the description of that creature called Dajjal whose killing has been foretold by the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe

wassallam) and whose liquidator has to be conveyed the salaam of the holy Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam). Can any one

professing faith in the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) declare that a Dajjal of such description has ever emerged in

the world and has any Isa bin Mariam killed him? Only a person without faith in the holy Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam)

can waver.

Now, judge what Mirza does. Because he had counterfeited Masih, the need arose to make one artificial Dajjal also. This he

did by means of a master idea. He announced that the group of Christian Priests was Dajjal. Qadianis believe in this, but

they know that Priests have been here for centuries. They were existing even before the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam).

If they were Dajjal, wouldn't have the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) said so and do these Priests match the same

description as the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) had foretold about Dajjal. And if by any stretch of imagination,

priests are Dajjals, did Mirza's so-called messiahship kill them? Do they not exist today? No logic is needed to disprove

this. If Mirza's Dajjal has been killed, wherefrom is this multitude of Priests and wherefore is Christianity making

progress?


(f) General Conditions at the time of descent of Hazrat Masih(AS)

The Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) gave a detailed account of the pattern of auspiciousness that would be prevailing in

the times of Hazrat Isa(AS) For the sake of brevity, I quote one Hadith and I have selected this one because it has been

translated into Urdu by Mirza Mahmud Ahmad Qadiani, son of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, in his book Haqiqat-un-Nubuwwah on

page 192. This is what Mirza Mahmud Ahmad has written. He quotes the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam):

Prophets are like brothers-in-affinity. Their mothers are different, but Deen is one. And I have the closest connection with

Isa bin Mariam, because in between him and myself there is no prophet and he is about to descend. Therefore, when you see

him, recognize him, that he is even-stature with red-white mixed complexion and wearing yellow clothes. Water shall be

dropping from his head, although water will not have been shed over the head. He will break the 'cross,' kill the swine and

will forsake 'Jazia' and will invite people to Islam. Lions and camels, leopards and cows, wolves and goats will graze about

together. Children will play with snakes and they will not harm them. Isa bin Mariam will remain on earth for forty years and

then he will die and Musalmans will offer his funeral prayer."

I ask you to read once again this Hadith which your own Chief of Jamaat, Mirza Mahmud wrote in his book. You see for yourself

if this was the condition that prevailed when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was alive? While the Prophet(sallallaho alaihe wassallam) is

saying that wars will cease, yet reports from news-media indicate that only 24 days in this century have been such that human

blood has not flowed on our terra firma. During Hazrat Isa's(AS) time there will be such peace and tranquillity that not to

speak of relations between two men, even the beasts will not harbor enmity against one another. But here among Mirza's own

Jamaat flames of enmity and hatred are blazing; what to say about others! "
